  1. Match your mini excavator's weight.Find your machine's operating weight and check it in the carrier guide. A hammer that is too heavy strains a small machine; one that is too light wears out fast and breaks less.
  2. Check your auxiliary hydraulics.Your mini excavator needs an auxiliary circuit with an oil flow inside the hammer's range, from 5.3–7.9 GPM for the JMASB20EBH up to 13.2–23.8 GPM for the JMA307EBH. The flow for every model is in the carrier guide.
  3. Confirm the mount and pick the chisel.Each hammer bolts on with a head made for a reference machine such as the CAT 303 or Yanmar ViO35, and it fits machines with the same pin size, ear-to-ear and center-to-center. Bobcat mounts fit every Bobcat excavator with the X-Change coupler. Send us your model and we confirm the head before you buy.

  2. How much hydraulic flow does a mini excavator hammer need?

    JMASB20EBH 5.3–7.9 GPM, JMASB30EBH 6.6–13.2 GPM, JMASB40EBH 10.6–18.5 GPM, JMA307EBH 13.2–23.8 GPM. Your machine's auxiliary circuit has to deliver flow inside that range.

  3. What operating pressure do these hammers run at?

    JMASB20EBH and JMASB30EBH: 1,280–1,707 psi. JMASB40EBH: 1,565–1,991 psi. JMA307EBH: 1,707–2,133 psi.

  4. Will a JMA hammer fit my Kubota, Bobcat, CAT or Yanmar?

    Very likely. Our mounts are made for reference machines such as the Kubota U17 and KX057, the Bobcat E20 and E35, the CAT 303 and the Yanmar ViO35, and a mount also fits other machines with the same pin size and mounting dimensions. Send us your make and model and we confirm the right mount before you order.

  5. Does a JMA hammer fit a Bobcat with the X-Change coupler?

    Bobcat mounts fit every Bobcat excavator with the X-Change coupler. Tell us your Bobcat model and we send the hammer with the right mount.

  6. Does the hammer come with the mount for my machine?

    Yes. One bolt-on head made for your machine, with pins, comes with the hammer. Extra heads for other machines are sold separately.

  7. Is the JMA307EBH the same hammer as the JMASB43EBH?

    Yes, it is the same 1,356-joule hammer. The JMA307EBH listing also includes 2 greasable pins and 4 bushings and is set up for 50 mm pins.

  8. How many blows per minute do these hammers deliver?

    JMASB20EBH 700–1,200, JMASB30EBH 600–1,100, JMASB40EBH 500–900, JMA307EBH 400–800 blows per minute.

  9. What chisel diameter does each hammer take?

    JMASB20EBH 45 mm, JMASB30EBH 53 mm, JMASB40EBH 68 mm, JMA307EBH 75 mm. Chisels are listed by hammer model.

  10. Which chisel should I use: moil point or blunt?

    A moil point (pointed tool) concentrates the blow and is the everyday choice for concrete, asphalt and trenching. A blunt tool spreads the blow and is best for boulders and oversize rock. Every JMA hammer ships with a moil chisel and a wedge chisel, and more chisels are sold for each model.
