3 Steps to a Perfect Fit

  1. Match your excavator's operating weight.Find your machine's operating weight in the carrier guide and pick the hammer for that range. A hammer that is too heavy strains the boom; one that is too light wears out fast and breaks less.
  2. Check your auxiliary hydraulics.Your excavator needs an auxiliary circuit with an oil flow inside the hammer's range: 13.2–23.8 GPM for the JMASB43EBH, up to 74.0–92.5 GPM for the JMASB200EBH. The flow for every model is in the carrier guide.
  3. Confirm the mount and pick the chisel.Each hammer bolts on with a head made for a reference machine, and it fits machines with the same pin size, ear-to-ear and center-to-center. Send us your model and we confirm the head. Then choose a moil point for concrete and trenching or a blunt tool for boulders.

  1. What size hydraulic hammer does my excavator need?

    Match the hammer to your excavator's operating weight: 10–15 tons, JMASB50EBH (2,712 J); 18–26 tons, JMASB81EBH (4,500 J); 85–130 tons, JMASB200EBH (19,800 J). For the JMASB43EBH (1,356 J), JMASB60EBH (4,067 J), JMASB121EBH (10,178 J), JMASB131EBH and JMA349EBH (13,558 J), send us your machine model and we confirm the fit before shipping.   2. How much hydraulic flow does an excavator hammer need?

    Each hammer works inside a set oil flow range: JMASB43EBH 13.2–23.8 GPM, JMASB50EBH 21.1–29.1 GPM, JMASB60EBH 23.8–31.7 GPM, JMASB81EBH 31.7–47.6 GPM, JMASB121EBH 47.6–63.4 GPM, JMASB131EBH and JMA349EBH 52.8–68.7 GPM, JMASB200EBH 74.0–92.5 GPM. Your excavator's auxiliary circuit has to deliver flow inside that range.

  3. What operating pressure do these hammers run at?

    JMASB43EBH: 1,707–2,133 psi. JMASB50EBH and JMASB60EBH: 2,133–2,418 psi. JMASB81EBH, JMASB121EBH, JMASB131EBH and JMA349EBH: 2,276–2,560 psi. JMASB200EBH: 3,414–3,698 psi.

  4. Will a JMA hammer fit my CAT, Komatsu or Hitachi?

    Very likely. Each hammer bolts on with a mount made for a reference machine, such as the CAT 312 or Komatsu PC200, and the mount also fits other machines with the same pin size and mounting dimensions. The carrier guide lists the reference machines for each size. Send us your make and model and we confirm the right mount before you order.

  5. Does the hammer come with the mount for my excavator?

    Yes. One bolt-on head made for your machine, with pins, comes with the hammer. Extra heads for other machines are sold separately.

  6. What is the difference between the JMASB131EBH and the JMA349EBH?

    Both are 13,558-joule hammers with the same oil flow (52.8–68.7 GPM) and pressure (2,276–2,560 psi) on record. The JMA349EBH listing is set up for 110 / 100 mm pins. Send us your machine model and we tell you which one fits.

  7. Is the JMASB43EBH the same hammer as the JMA307EBH?

    Yes, it is the same 1,356-joule hammer. The JMA307EBH listing also includes 2 greasable pins and 4 bushings and is set up for 50 mm pins. It is listed on our mini excavator and backhoe loader hammer pages.

  8. Which chisel should I use: moil point or blunt?

    A moil point (pointed tool) concentrates the blow and is the everyday choice for concrete, asphalt and trenching. A blunt tool spreads the blow and is best for boulders and oversize rock. Every JMA hammer ships with a moil chisel and a wedge chisel, and more chisels are sold for each model.

  9. What chisel diameter does each hammer take?

    JMASB43EBH 75 mm, JMASB50EBH 100 mm, JMASB60EBH 125 mm, JMASB81EBH 140 mm, JMASB121EBH 155 mm, JMASB131EBH and JMA349EBH 165 mm, JMASB200EBH 200 mm. Chisels are listed by hammer model.

  10. What comes with a JMA excavator hammer?
