1. How do I choose a hammer for my backhoe loader?

   By pin size. Measure the front and rear pins on your backhoe's dipper and pick the hammer set up for those pins: 45 / 38 mm (JMA310BBH), 50 / 45 mm (JMA420BBH), 55 / 50 mm (JMA580BBH) or 50 mm (JMA307EBH). Then check that your auxiliary flow is inside the hammer's range.

2. How do I measure my backhoe's pins?

   Measure the diameter of the front pin and the rear pin where the bucket attaches to the dipper, in millimeters. Send us the two numbers with your make and model and we confirm the fit.

3. What pin sizes do JMA backhoe hammers come in?

   Three side-mount hammers for 45 / 38 mm, 50 / 45 mm and 55 / 50 mm pins (front / rear), and the JMA307EBH for 50 mm pins front and rear.

4. How do the three side-mount hammers differ?

   By pin size (front / rear): 45 / 38 mm JMA310BBH, 50 / 45 mm JMA420BBH, 55 / 50 mm JMA580BBH. Send us your backhoe model and we confirm the fit before shipping.

5. How much hydraulic flow does a backhoe hammer need?

   The side-mount hammers need 10.6–18.5 GPM and the JMA307EBH needs 13.2–23.8 GPM. Your backhoe's auxiliary circuit has to deliver flow inside that range.

6. What operating pressure do these hammers run at?

   The side-mount hammers run at 1,565–1,991 psi and the JMA307EBH at 1,707–2,133 psi.

7. Does my backhoe's weight matter?

   On a backhoe, the pin size decides the fit. Measure the front and rear pins where the bucket attaches, or send us your backhoe model.

8. Can I use the JMA307EBH on my backhoe?

   The JMA307EBH is a 1,356-joule hammer for mini excavators and backhoe loaders, set up for 50 mm pins front and rear. If your backhoe has 50 mm pins and 13.2–23.8 GPM of auxiliary flow, send us the model and we confirm it.

9. How many blows per minute do these hammers deliver?

   The side-mount hammers deliver 500–900 blows per minute and the JMA307EBH 400–800.

10. Which chisel do these hammers take, and which one should I use?

    The side-mount hammers take a 68 mm chisel and the JMA307EBH a 75 mm chisel. A moil point is the everyday choice for concrete, asphalt and trenching; a blunt tool is best for boulders and oversize rock. Every JMA hammer ships with a moil chisel and a wedge chisel.

11. What comes with a JMA backhoe hammer?

    2 hydraulic hoses, a moil chisel, a wedge chisel, a tool box, a nitrogen gauge, a nitrogen bottle and a repair seal kit. The side-mount models and the JMA307EBH also include 2 greasable pins and 4 bushings.

12. Where do you ship from, and what is the warranty?

    In-stock JMA hammers ship from our warehouse in Doral (Miami), FL the same business day when ordered before 2 PM ET, and you can also pick up in person. Standard freight delivery takes 7–10 business days. Every hammer has a 24-month warranty; coverage varies by component, see the warranty card.
