The new Wain Roy style QC27 and QC30 attachments are in stock now. If you run a rental yard, manage a small dealer fleet, or own a Kubota mini excavator, the lineup we just rolled out is for you. Two coupler styles. Two very different customer needs. Both built in the same JMA shop, both engineered to OEM spec, and all in stock ready to ship nationwide today.
Here’s what’s new and where it fits.
Wain Roy Style QC27 and QC30: Built for the Rental and Dealer Fleet
The Wain Roy coupler has been around forever in the small-tonnage excavator world. If you’re a rental yard or a dealer carrying mixed brands, you already know why. One head, dozens of attachments, and the customer can swap a bucket without you sending a tech out. That’s the whole pitch.
We just added a full line of Wain Roy style attachments in both QC27 (the 3-ton class with a 1.25 inch pin) and the start of our QC30 lineup (the 5-ton class with a 1.75 inch pin). The fit is the same direct-pin connection your customers expect from an OEM Wain Roy head, so they bolt right onto whatever you have in the yard.
For rental operators, the math is simple. One coupler head on the machine. Five or six buckets on the shelf. That covers digging, trenching, ditching, and skeleton work for almost every job a 3-ton mini excavator will see in a week. When the customer returns the bucket, you wipe it off and put it back. The buckets don’t wear out from coupler swaps because there are no swaps. That’s why we made the buckets first and the heavier coupler adapters second.
What’s available right now in QC27 (3-ton, 1.25 inch pin)
Trenching bucket in 12 inches. Digging buckets in 18, 24, 30, and 36 inches. Ditching buckets in 42 and 48 inches for cleanup and grading. Skeleton buckets with teeth in 36 and 48 inches for rock and root work. And a bolt-on head adapter (WR3TH) if you need to convert an existing JMA bucket to the Wain Roy connection.
What’s available in QC30 (5-ton, 1.75 inch pin)
The bolt-on head adapter (WR5TH) is in stock now. The matching bucket lineup is in production and will roll out in the next few weeks. If you need a quote on a custom build for the QC30 size before the standard line is on the site, give us a call.
A note for dealers: we sell these at fleet pricing if you’re stocking three or more buckets. Pricing isn’t on the product page for fleet orders. Email or call and we’ll work out a number.
Kubota Wedge Lock Attachments for KX040, KX057, and U17
This one is for the owner-operator. If you bought a Kubota mini excavator from a dealer in the last few years, there’s a good chance it came with a Kubota wedge lock quick coupler on the boom. It’s a strong system, but it locks you into Kubota’s proprietary head shape on the back of every attachment.
That means when you go shopping for a second bucket, a ripper tooth, or a rake, you’re stuck buying from Kubota or paying a welder to retrofit a non-Kubota attachment. Both options are expensive.
We just made it cheaper. JMA now manufactures wedge lock buckets and attachments that match the Kubota head on the KX040, KX057, and U17. Direct fit. No welding. No adapter plates. Take it off the truck, lock it in, and dig.
Kubota U17 owners
If you run a U17, this is the smallest Kubota mini and one of the most popular rental units on the East Coast. We built out a full attachment line for it: digging buckets in 18, 24, and 30 inches, trenching buckets in 8 and 12 inches, a 35 inch brush rake, and a ripper tooth. That covers most of the work a U17 sees.
Kubota KX040 owners
The Kubota KX040 is the workhorse of the 4-ton class. For now we have two trenching buckets (6 inch and 8 inch) and a ripper tooth. More sizes are in production and will be on the site as they come off the line.
Kubota KX057 owners
The KX057 is the heavier 5-ton mini. The current Kubota wedge lock lineup includes digging buckets in 30 and 36 inches and a 48 inch brush rake. Customers have been asking for a skeleton bucket and a ditching bucket in this size and both are in queue.
Why we built these
Honest answer? Our customers asked for them. We get the same phone call three or four times a week. “I have a Kubota KX040 and I want a bucket that’s not $2,800 from the dealer.” Or, “I run six 3-ton mini excavators in my rental fleet and I need a coupler system that doesn’t make me carry 30 different buckets.”
Once the requests stacked up, the math made sense. We bought the steel, we built the prototypes, we tested them in our yard for a season, and now they’re for sale.
If you’ve been holding off on a second bucket because you didn’t want to pay dealer pricing or hire a welder, that wait is over.
Built to OEM spec, not to OEM price
Every JMA attachment leaves our shop after a real quality check. We use AR400 wear plate where it counts, T-1 steel on the structural sides, and full-penetration welds at every stress point. The pin housings are line-bored to fit, not just torched out and called good. We do this because the cheap import buckets we sometimes see on the market don’t, and because our name is on the side of the bucket.
In plain language: these attachments are built to match the engineering of the OEM Kubota and Wain Roy heads, with the same wear life, but without the dealer markup. That’s the whole reason JMA exists.
In stock, ready to ship nationwide and international
Every product in both lineups is usually in stock in our Miami warehouse. Order before 2 PM Eastern on a business day and it goes out the same day. Most addresses in the continental US receive it in 5–7 business days by UPS or FedEx, or 7–10 business days by LTL freight, depending on the weight. Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico add a few days but we ship there too.
International orders are no problem. We export regularly to Canada, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and farther. The customer pays freight and any local import duty, but we handle all the export paperwork on our end. If you want a quote landed at your country, email [email protected] with the product and your destination and we’ll work the numbers.
Every bucket and attachment carries our 2-year warranty + lifetime warranty on welds. If something fails because we built it wrong, we replace it. Simple.
Tell us your machine, we confirm the fit before shipping. Call us with your machine make, model, and year. We’ve spec’d our connections off real production Kubota and Wain Roy heads, but every once in a while a model year has a different pin diameter and we want to make sure you get the right one the first time.
Starting your business? Pay later with PayPal
A lot of our customers are owner-operators who just bought their first mini excavator and are trying to take on bigger jobs. They need a second bucket, a ripper tooth, or a brush rake to win the work, and tying up another two or three thousand dollars in cash at the start of a job is tough.
We get it. That’s why JMA offers PayPal Pay Later at checkout. It’s a buy now, pay later option that you apply for right at checkout. Approval is instant for most buyers. You get the attachment shipped today and you pay it off over time, in installments, with no surprise paperwork on our end. If you already have a PayPal account, it takes about a minute. If you don’t, the application is short and free.
This is the financing route we recommend for contractors who are just getting started or who need to keep cash free for fuel, payroll, and the rest of the job.
